Dr. Mince has been an educator for nearly 30 years, bringing 27 years of experience teaching in diverse settings around the world. Her career has taken her from a one-room dirt-floor schoolhouse in the hills of Guatemala to an urban high school serving more than 2,000 students in Arkansas. She has taught across multiple states and countries, including Texas, California, Arkansas, Guatemala, Japan, and Bahrain, working with learners from kindergarten through post-secondary levels.

For the past 18 years, Dr. Mince has served with Department of War Education Activity in Japan and Bahrain, where she has taught social studies and held numerous leadership roles. Dr. Mince was named the 2017 Japan District Teacher of the Year. She was also a Kagan Cooperative Learning Trainer and has presented for educators across the United States. During her time in Bahrain, she was actively engaged in the broader educational community, cofounding Bahrain TeachMeets which was designed to provide teacher-driven professional learning opportunities.

Although Dr. Mince grew up in California, she is an alumnus of Southern Arkansas University. Dr. Mince earned her bachelor’s degree in Spanish and History, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1997. She later completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010. Most recently, she earned her Doctor of Education (EdD) in Rural and Diverse Education, further strengthening her expertise in supporting diverse learners and educators.

A former military spouse and mother of three adult children, Dr. Mince enjoys exploring the best places on the planet to read a book, have a spa day, and find the perfect cup of coffee.
